Thanks a lot!  You helped us out of bind!  For us, it was just the opposite, using Roxio with 16x speed discs failed.  I used 8x discs at 4x speed burned with ISO Recorder.  The server in question is 4+ years old, so it may not have supported a disc burned at that speed, or that media.  Dunno, but it was your logic that got us the solution!
